Neighborhood
Not the poshest and shiniest area of the city, but it's actually a 20 min downhill walk to the river banks and very well connected through metro lines. It's also not exactly where the nightlife is, so it's relatively quiet.

Amazing! I had wonderful three months at the Ambiente Hostel in Lisbon. I felt very welcomed from the start and the stuff was super friendly and always helpful when i needed advice. The hostel is clean and has a calm but social atmosphere. Would definitely recommend going there!

Neighborhood
Right in front of the hostel you have a big street where you'll find shops, restaurants, supermarkets etc. It's also a nice walk to the tourist area or the old town. It's a bit noisy during the day since it is the main street.

If you like vegan food, check out the 'vegan restaurant lisbon' which is just a 5 minutes walk away. It's delicious!!!

Pavel has probably been the most fantastic landlord I have ever met. As an international travler and global citizen that stayed in my first hostel in Germany in 1975, and have subsequently stayed in hostels in the UK, the US, the EU, and Africa for nearly half a century, that is saying something. I would recommend this hostel to anyone anywhere.

Neighborhood
I don't know Lisbon very well, but it's a damned site better than Dusseldorf (Germany).
